Joshua Rucker

Joshua Rucker from Detroit Michigan became a T-9 /T-10 complete paraplegic at the age of 18 years old due to a work automobile accident . Joshua uses a wheelchair to get around due to paralysis of the waist down . Growing up , he played sports , went to school and enjoyed being a kid. After becoming a paraplegic, Joshua does his best to stay healthy by eating healthy and exercise. Some of Joshua’s hobbies are Wheelchair basketball, Wheelchair bodybuilding, sled hockey and now Joshua is a adaptive cross fitter! In 2013, Joshua became a body builder, however he fell in love with Adaptive Cross Fit. Joshua is very good at competing. In Body building , Joshua has won a few first places in competitions. He has also won a lot of tournaments for wheelchair basketball. Recently, Joshua has won the Wodapalooza in Crossfit Adaptive Seated RX Men. Joshua's journey as a adaptive sport athlete has taken him all over the United States. Joshua has also competed in Puerto Rico. Joshua says " I am very BLESSED!" Joshua would like to give special needs children parent this bit of advice , "Everyone is different in so many ways. I would just say be the best parent you can be! Live life to the fullest with your child."Joshua's advice for someone who has a disability is "Stay healthy by incorporating exercise and eating healthy into your life!"
