Jamie Woodberry, a 34-year-old man of Charleston South Carolina has Bipolar Depression. What is Bipolar Depression and has a girlfriend with Spina Bifida. What is Bipolar Depression? Bipolar Depression refers to the depressive moods or lows of Bipolar disorder. Episodes of bipolar depression lasts longer than they would for bipolar mania. Individuals with bipolar disorder experience symptoms 3 times as often as they do manic symptoms. To control his bipolar depression, Jamie likes to listen to music, watch tv and youtube videos, or talks to his girlfriend Christine, who has Myelomeningocele Spina Bifida and uses a wheelchair to get around. Jamie and Christine met in a support group on facebook for people who have Spina Bifida. Jamie and Christine may have different disabilities but their two worlds become one as they stay in contact with one another through video chats on facebook and phone calls. Jamie and Christine have not met in person yet but plan to. They lift each other up through the bad and praises each other through the good. Christine is not the first girlfriend Jamie has had who has Spina Bifida. Jamie’s first love Becky from high school also had Spina Bifida. But unfortunately, Becky lost her life to pneumonia 10 years ago, while being in the hospital. Jamie wants people who have bipolar depression to know that it is ok to seek psychiatric help if you feel that you may harm yourself.
