Nadia Garzon

Hello Walk N Rolling With Spina Bifida viewers! My name is Nadia Garzon. I am 29 years old and I live in Pennsylvania. I was born with Hydrocephalus, Chiari Malformation, and Encephalocele. I also have a shunt and have undergone eight brain surgeries.

Doctors told my mom I wouldn't make it. I proved them wrong! I faced many obstacles. I persevered despite them. As a result of the brain surgeries, I have short term memory loss and have issues with my balance (Ataxia.)

I had to work extra hard in school due to my disabilities. I graduated high school and then went to community college. In college I graduated with an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts-Modern languages. After that , I went to a university to pursue my degree in Spanish. I graduated college in 2014. I hope my story helps those who are facing similar obstacles and serves as inspiration.
